1st Annual MSU Business Pitch Competition

The First Annual MSU Business Pitch Competition on March 10th was a massive success. We had 28 ventures submit pitches which were narrowed to the top ten for our main event. Jabs Hall was packed with students, faculty, and members of the community to hear MSU's best business pitches and each venture delivered. The competition was a close contest among the top 10 pitches who presented live for our panel of judges.

Three ventures left the competition victorious. Mutt Mug was the Audience Choice for best idea and took home 500 dollars. Mountain Life Technology came in second place overall, taking home $1000. Buoy was the champion of the night and took home $2500, for delivering the best pitch, selected by both the audience and the judges.

Second Nature: Second Nature is striving to change the lives of dementia patients by building a user friendly Shower Chair.

Mountain Life Technology: [Second Place] Is building a lightweight modular rafting system to reduce the effort needed to get your raft into the river.

Buoy: [Audience Choice Best Pitch and 1st Place] Buoy strives to easy the anxiety of living in a place where you don't know many people by vibrating a small handheld device when other Buoy users are nearby.

YieldSafe: YieldSafe is a small device drivers can stick on their car to let other cars on the road know when a pedestrian is crossing in front of them.

Mutt Mug: Mutt mug is a dog food measuring system that can adjust to different volumes. Perfect for making sure you aren't overfeeding your dogs.

Bike Bites: Bike Bites is an eco-friendly food truck system minus the truck, plus a bike!

Looking Good: Looking Good is an app that helps you find the best place to get your haircut by creating a community of people who care about looking good.

Starlight Cinemas: Starlight Cinemas is a movie theater where you can get away from the crowds, eat great food and have a beer, all while enjoying an amazing movie.
