PS if any of the groups are interested in submitting another selfie, we think it would be pretty funny to have before and after pictures of each of the teams!  Post them on the message board!

PRIZES

At 5pm tonight our panel of judges will meet with each team and watch a short demo of each team's project.  These judges will select the top three teams on three main criteria:

  • Does your project demonstrate the core functionality of your idea
  • Does your project function without crashing?  Are bugs noticeable during the demo?
  • How well does your demo show off what you built?
  • Wow factor.  How well do you differentiate your product through quality, idea, or execution?

We have three great prizes for the top three teams.  We would like to thank the Zaneray Group, MSU's Computer Science Department, and LaunchCats for sponsoring these prizes:

THE ZANERAY PRIZE

The Zaneray Group has donated two Outdoor Research Jackets, and two $50 dollar Visa Gift Cards as part of The Zaneray Prize.

LAUNCHCATS PRIZE

The student organization LaunchCats will be sponsoring 15 free hours of video/graphic design/Kickstarter support to one team.  LaunchCats has also provided all the meals and snacks you've been enjoying throughout the event.

MSU COMPUTER SCIENCE PRIZE

The MSU computer science department has sponsored a $50 Steam Gift Card, as well as provided funding for some of the drinks you were provided throughout the event.

NINE | FINAL CHECKPOINT

You've worked long and hard, in many cases through the night.  Our last check-in will be at 1pm, as always we will be looking for the most impressive project.  This will be a great time to start thinking about how you will present your idea to the Judges at 5pm tonight.  This Checkpoint will include: Two $10 Amazon Gift Cards, Two Rockstar Hats, and a liter of Naked Green Machine.

Plinko Pachinko is killing it with their addictive Android game.

EIGHT WORDS

If you need a break over the next 3 hours, take a stab at TypingTest.com.  Submit a screenshot of your results over the Code 24 Message Board.  The top three speeds gets a Frapachino, two G2 Pilot Pens, and a notebook.

THE FIRST CHALLENGE

This first challenge is an easy one, we really don't want to blow anyone's mind too early... that comes later.

For this first challenge each team will need to describe your project in five sentences or less.  As a reward every team that answers will receive not one... not two... but quite a few... STICKERS!!!
