At Code|24 this year projects will be judged in one of three different categories, with one winner selected from each category. As always we will have the freeform category where teams can work on a project of their choosing.  In addition our sponsors have proposed two project ideas listed below.  Workiva will be judging the Voice Assistant Prompt and the College of Education, Health, and Human Development judging the food waste app.  Click on each prompt for more in-depth info.

Write a program that takes advantage of either the Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant API in order to read back key details and generated statistics from a large dataset. This program should take as input natural language questions and return answers in a way that is easy for the average consumer to understand.

We know that catered events across the MSU campus often result in extra food (in box lunches or on a buffet line), that typically goes to waste.  Is there a tech solution that could link this surplus food at catered events to members of the MSU community who need better access to healthy food?
